Almost 4 Months Old

Blake and Macie hung out again. They hadn't seen each other since Blake was born. I think they enjoyed one another's company. They are excited to know that Jackson will be coming to play this summer.

Macie loves sucking on her hand. I checked on her during naptime the other day and she had her thumb in her mouth. I have tried different pacifiers but she is a thumb sucker. I don't mind really because the thumb can never get lost but it may be a hard thing to break later on.
The weather has been great so we have been taking advantage before it gets too hot. Zack picked this outfit out when we were at Carter's.

I look just like my daddy!

Macie is almost 4 months old. WOW! I have loved this past month because she is growing stronger everyday. She is "talking" more and has better control of her head. She is also able to hold on to toys and play with some of her things better than before. She has been a JOY!

Macie had her first Easter. I think she had a good time. She really liked her Easter eggs. I am not sure if she liked her bunny ears but I thought they looked really cute.

Macie and Michael enjoyed hanging out today! They got along very well.

Macie has had an eventful past couple of days...a big poop and a gigantic spit up. Neither made her cry. Macie hadn't gone to the bathroom in a week so we had to take matters into our own hands. Zack bought the suppositories, Grammy (Zack's Mom) told me to get plenty of diapers, wipes, and a towel, and I took care of "the rest". Within a minute or so the suppository did its job and Macie was 3 pounds lighter. We used several diapers to get through this experience and made it through the unpleasant smell. Yesterday I was feeding Macie and she seems to be eating a ton and for a long time. So I thought it was odd that she was acting full after about 20 min. I started to burp her and heard the cutest little burp...then the explosion came! I couldn't believe that much spit up came out of that one little girl. Grammy jumped up to get a burp cloth and I told her to grab the camera. We needed proof that this much spit up could really happen.

Bluebonnets

Today was a lot of fun with Macie. She woke up so cheerful and talkative. Macie has discovered her voice a bit more now. We put on her new outfit that her daddy picked out and took a couple of pictures. Then this afternoon we went to a field by our house and Macie got to have another photo shoot with the bluebonnets. The only problem was the sun was a bit too bright for her little eyes.

Spring Flower

I can't believe it is already spring time. Wow, the last 12 weeks have gone by so fast. It is hard to believe Macie is almost 3 months old. Macie is such a good girl. She is now sleeping from around 8:30 to 7 in the morning. This is a great thing...but she has been a good sleeper from the beginning. However, as I was feeding her last night I had a "moment"...one less time Macie needs me. Well, I know she still needs me but that just proves that she is growing up. After being with Blake last week, I had a hard time remembering that Macie was that tiny not too long ago. I had to look through her newborn pictures. I love watching her change and learn new things. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with her. I just can't imagine life without her!

Blake Ryan Burleson

The Burleson Family
After a very quick labor, Lyndsie gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 3 oz baby boy. He is 20 inches long. Blake is a perfect new addition to the family. God is so good!

I was so nervous and excited for Lyndsie and Josh. I was shaking like crazy as Mom, Dad, and I drove as quickly as we could to get to the hospital because Lyndsie's labor went so much faster than we anticipated. Now knowing what it is like to give birth and to have a child, I couldn't wait for Lyndsie to experience the same joy. At one point, I went to listen outside Lyndsie's room to see if she was still pushing and I heard the most precious sound...Blake crying. I screamed, "He is here!" and ran to tell everyone in the waiting area. When we finally got to go in the room, it was so much fun to see the new family. There were definitely tears. I loved seeing my baby brother holding his son. It seems like yesterday I was momma'n him. I am so proud of Josh and know that he will be a good daddy!

Zack's Birthday

Macie and I made Zack a birthday cake today. Macie didn't get to help a whole lot but she did sit beside me as I made the cake. I told her about all the ingredients and measurements. I think she enjoyed helping and I know she loved wearing her apron. Lucky for Macie, she didn't get a bit of food on her but I somehow made a huge mess. Macie also made her dad a card with her handprint and footprint. It turned out super cute.

Tummy time is exhausting!
