SHOES and BABY Finley McClung

Do you think Macie will love shoes?

Macie's Leopard Shoes from Nonnie

Macie's Winter Boots and Hat from Grammy.
They were perfect for the cold weather we had today even though we didn't get out

Macie's shoes from Aunt Amy. Amy got them from China when she went to the Olympics. We had to put them on in honor of the new momma. She has some for Finn, too.

My FAVORITE PICTURE

Today is a big day for the McClung family. Finley McClung entered this world at 5:35 a.m. after a long labor for his Momma. Finn weighed 7lb. 7 oz. and was 20 in. long. Momma and Baby are healthy and I can't wait to hear all the details. We wish we could have been there for Finn's birth but that would be too big of a trip for Macie and me to make. So Macie has another cousin that she will have to meet someday soon. WHAT JOY! God is good!

Bath Time

Macie had her first real bath Sunday night. Zack and I were nervous that she would cry because she didn't care for the sponge bath but she loved it. She seemed very calm and relaxed. I am excited for that. After bath time, I read her a book and we put her in her crib for her first time at night. She went right to sleep and slept great. I am spoiled with her night time sleeping because she only wakes once in the night around 2 or 3.

Mommy did the bathing!

Daddy dried Macie off!

Two Weeks Old

We went to the doctor yesterday for Macie's 2 week check-up. She weighed 7lbs. 4 1/2 oz. and was 20 inches long. The doctor said that she was very healthy so I don't have to wake her every 3 hours to eat. Last night she slept 5 hours and then another 4 hours until 7 o'clock. I am so happy to know that she is eating so well.

Here are a few pictures of some of her first little things she has done.

Macie is hanging out in her new swing.

Tummy Time

Macie took a pacifier tonight for a few minutes. We were hoping it would put her to sleep since she had been awake for several hours.

First Bottle-It made me a little sad that Macie took it so quickly.

First Time in Stroller for a trip around the block last week when the weather was so nice.

I know Jackson and Macie are going to love being cousins. I think they look similar in the pictures. I tried to pose Macie the same as Jackson was in his pictures. I can't wait for them to meet one another and play together. They will love each other.

Macie has two precious cousins, Jackson and Jillian, who came to visit her last week. They both held her, brushed her hair, and Jillian changed a diaper. Macie has two more cousins on the way, Blake and Finley. I know she will love them, too! We are all anxious for them to arrive!

Macie

Our Precious Gift

Macie's first bath

Macie was awake from about 7-9 last night so we put her in her bouncy seat. I think she liked it. She tried on her bib that her Nonnie and Pappy gave her.

Macie has changed so much since we had her. Tomorrow she will be one week old. She is doing so good. She is eating well which makes me happy. We took her to her first doctor's appointment she did great. She didn't like getting pricked by the needle though. We are taking her back tomorrow to check her jaundice. It is at a low level so that is good. She gained 1 1/2 ounces which is good because she is gaining weight but she is supposed to have gained more so I am going to keep filling her belly with milk. She had a great night last night. After her 4 o'clock feeding I had just finsihed burping her and she went to the bathroom. I know they say they are just gas smiles or whatever, but her smile was the cutest thing. I wish I would have had the camera. That smile made me forget that it was 4 in the morning.

Leaving the Hospital

Proud Parents

Could I love anyone more? Every time I look at Macie, hold her, or think about her my heart swells with love. I look at Macie and think, "My daughter." I just want to hold her, kiss her, and keep reminding her that I love her so much. Of course, I think she is beautiful too and love showing her off. God has been so good. We are very blessed to have a healthy baby. I thank God for this precious gift.

My water broke at 2:45 a.m on Dec. 31. When I went to bed that night I had a feeling that is was going to be my last night of being pregnant. I was a bit sad because I have enjoyed it so much but now that I have Macie I am glad to be a Mommy! Anyway, after getting to the hospital I was told that my water didn't break and I would be going home. Good thing my doctor checked because in fact I was right. After getting some medicine to start contractions around 9, I progressed quickly and by 12:30 I was completely dilated. I didn't begin pushing until 1:45 because my doctor had a c-section. Macie was then born by 2:30. Zack was an great coach. I was so impressed with how calm he was and how relaxed and comfortable he made me feel. Mom was in the room too and it was comforting to have her. She was the photographer when Macie arrived.

We have had a very busy but enjoyable few days. We are home now and it is nice to be a family. Kirby and Sebastian are loving Macie too. Kirby is very protective and Sebestian wants to kiss her nonstop. I think they will adjust perfectly.
