8 Weeks

Macie in her new dress and headband.

I am glad the weather has been so warm so she could wear her dress.

We are at Nonnie's house right now for a couple of days because Pappy is out of town on business. Nonnie couldn't believe how much Macie has grown.

Get You Guns Up!

Macie is 8 Weeks and growing right before my eyes. Her personality is starting to show as she is smiling and "talking." She is very cheerful in the morning after she first wakes up so I sit and talk with her for about twenty minutes before doing anything else. This coming week is a BIG week for Macie. On Monday Macie is going to the doctor for her 2 month check-up and first round of shots. It makes me sad thinking about her having to get a shot. I am excited to see how much she has grown. I think she is around 10 lbs. and 22-23 inches long (Zack and I tried to measure her the other day). Her newborn clothes are now too small so we are moving up to the next size which is fun because she has cute new outfits to wear. Tuesday we are headed to Houston so Macie can meet her new cousin, Finley! I think it will be a great trip.

Zack had two Valentine's this year..Macie and me! We enjoyed the day. Zack made a delicious dinner and then we watched a movie, Fireproof!

This is the outfit Mom originally got for Macie to come home from the hospital in but it was too big. Anyway, it is almost too small now but Macie is still wearing it. I put the little hat on that goes with it. I thought Macie looked funny in it and cute too!

Family Visit

This past week Zack's parents were in town. They couldn't believe how big Macie has gotten. Macie's Uncle Chris was also in town working so he was able to stop by and see her. He and his wife, Amy, had their baby a little over 2 weeks ago. I am excited about Finley and Macie meeting! Hopefully, they will have the chance really soon. I also am impressed how the McClung men (Zack and Chris) are doing as Daddies! It is so sweet!

It Won't Be Like This for Long

We had some family pictures taken this weekend by Zack's uncle who did a great job. It was a bit windy, Macie wasn't totally loving the photo session, but we got some good pictures out of it. We really appreciate Stephen taking time out of his Sunday to take pictures.

I added a new song to my play list, "It Won't Be Like This for Long." I think it is another perfect song to describe our new addition to the family. It is just a reminder to me that Zack and I have to enjoy every moment and day with Macie. She is growing and changing so quickly.

I look at Macie and am still in AW that she is my daughter. I lay her down at night and just stare. I want to memorize every look, every smile, and how perfect and peaceful she looks when she sleeps. I love smelling her sweet baby skin and kissing her. I love when I get ready to lay her down for her nap that she lays against my chest and just seems content as we listen to her lullabies. To sum it all up, I love being a mother and I love having a daughter.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

Macie is 5 Weeks Old

Macie had a little tummy time on her dog that Kay, my friend, gave her. She likes it probably more than she likes Sebastian. Actually Kirby and Sebastian have been great with Macie. Kirby is protective and will often sleep in her room at night and Sebastian just wants to lick her. We have to watch him closely because he will act like he is laying down and he will slowly sneak over to where she is.
Macie is hanging out with all her cute dolls and teddy bears.
Mom and Dad came to visit last Saturday and brought Macie the cute outfit that she is wearing. I have been wanting to put red on Macie because it is my favorite color and I thought it would look good on her. She loved having her Nonnie and Pappy holding her.
