Cousins Come to Town

Amy, Finley, and Kylan came to town and we couldn't have had a better time!  So I made the mistake of telling Macie the kids would be here on Wednesday but not until after bedtime.  However, she had me convinced that she needed to go with me to the airport.  Unfortunately, the plane was delayed and they didn't get here until about 12:30AM.  Tired...oh no, the boys were loving all the toys.  Thursday morning Macie was up and ready to see them.  She was so excited.  As soon as all the kids were up, they were on the go.  We spent at the house and I really don't think Amy and I saw the kids all morning. It was good for them and us...we talked nonstop. They played in the basement and loved it.  The kids swam in our back yard after that.  Friday we went to the Magic House which is an awesome kids' museum.  It was a great adventure and the kids didn't want to leave; however, we were starving and it was a little overwhelming with all the kids (summer camps) there.  I lost Weston at one point but found him. There is that moment of panic while trying to stay calm that is a no fun feeling but the overwhelming feeling of joy and peace came over me once he was found (he didn't even know I was missing him). We finished Friday off by playing outside with all the neighbors.  Finley and Kylan loved the battery operated cars and all the kids.  Saturday we took the kids swimming at The J and then Amy took the big kids to the movies which was a fun treat.  We then went to the Jazz festival but quickly decided that it wasn't too kid friendly.  Our boys made it obvious when they kept tackling each other over and over.  All the neighbors went to the Jazz thing too but we ended up all back here out in the front until after dark.  Finley and Macie had a great time playing like they always do.  Weston and Kylan laughed a lot, hugged a lot, and played a lot together.  It was super sweet to see their new bond.  I think it will only get stronger as they grow.  I am also certain that one day Kinsley and Alayna will enjoy each others' company.  We are so glad they made the trip to see us.  It made us feel extra special!  The time was fast and fun!  We love them so much and are thankful that they are family.

Nothing like a scorpion sucker from Texas.  Too our surprise the scorpion's head was eaten by Weston and Finley decided he needed to try part of it as well.

Our neighbors' commented that it must be a "Texas thing" to pee in the grass.  Is it really?  Come on, boys love it....or at least ours don't seem to think it is a big deal.
Balloons and Lightening Bugs are great entertainment

It was getting close to 10 at night and these two fellas didn't seem to notice.  They would just laugh and play.  I guess they could have been simpled out.  They were having to get all their playing in because it was their last night.

Road Trip to Texas

Off to Texas we went and it was a success!  The drive again was perfect and the time seems to go by in the blink of an eye!  We loved every minute of our time!  There was lots of cousin time, swimming, playing on the play set, fossil hunting, power wheel racing, golfing, and the girls squeezed in a pedicure.  Macie and Blake were able to attend VBS and loved every minute.  Weston and Blair got some special one on one time with each other and that was super sweet to see.  I know that it isn't easy to leave but the memories are priceless.

He just can't get enough!  Oh and he looks through golf magazines every night.
Kissing Cousins

Headed to the golf course!
Weston loves golfing with his real clubs and Pappy's tees.  Pappy caught him sneaking all his good golf balls to hit out into the field by the house.

She does love that thumb and prefers it over her paci but I keep on giving it.

"DRESSED" for the race.

HEADED to the GOLF COURSE!  I think Weston would live at the golf course if he could. I sure wish Pappy could take him daily.

THE SWEESTEST THING!
I have a picture of Macie in this towel so we had to get the same one with Kinsley.
Nonnie and Weston had a ball at the "jump place."  I told her those cubes aren't too easy to get out of.
We were glad to spend a couple of hours with our sweet friends.  I was sad not to see the rest of my old neighbors/friends but definitely thought about them.  Macie sure does love her "sister."

BIBLE SCHOOL
Look how serious Weston was before it began.
The last night the kids had their program.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out for Macie because she was wiped out from a really late night before (SLUMBER PARTY with Blake) and then we went to the Splash Park.  On the way to drop her off she overheard me saying they would sing and her response was, "Mom, you know I don't sing in front of people."  Luckily, she was happy and got over her mood before the program.
Raising his hand and singing along.

We were happy to spend time in Tyler with Grammy and Papaw!  The kids got in plenty of swimming time and it was so fun to watch.  Jillian would push Weston under the water and have him touch.  He now doesn't want to wear a floaty and today at the pool he swam just a little bit by himself. My kids love the water.  The time went fast but we had a blast.

Jillian is such a sweet girl.  She fed Kinsley and fixed Macie's hair. Macie stuck to her like glue and spent the night with her one night.  I think that is quite fun!  My cousin and I were about the same ages as Macie and Jillian and I just loved spending time with her.
