Amy, Finley, and Kylan came to town and we couldn't have had a better time! So I made the mistake of telling Macie the kids would be here on Wednesday but not until after bedtime. However, she had me convinced that she needed to go with me to the airport. Unfortunately, the plane was delayed and they didn't get here until about 12:30AM. Tired...oh no, the boys were loving all the toys. Thursday morning Macie was up and ready to see them. She was so excited. As soon as all the kids were up, they were on the go. We spent at the house and I really don't think Amy and I saw the kids all morning. It was good for them and us...we talked nonstop. They played in the basement and loved it. The kids swam in our back yard after that. Friday we went to the Magic House which is an awesome kids' museum. It was a great adventure and the kids didn't want to leave; however, we were starving and it was a little overwhelming with all the kids (summer camps) there. I lost Weston at one point but found him. There is that moment of panic while trying to stay calm that is a no fun feeling but the overwhelming feeling of joy and peace came over me once he was found (he didn't even know I was missing him). We finished Friday off by playing outside with all the neighbors. Finley and Kylan loved the battery operated cars and all the kids. Saturday we took the kids swimming at The J and then Amy took the big kids to the movies which was a fun treat. We then went to the Jazz festival but quickly decided that it wasn't too kid friendly. Our boys made it obvious when they kept tackling each other over and over. All the neighbors went to the Jazz thing too but we ended up all back here out in the front until after dark. Finley and Macie had a great time playing like they always do. Weston and Kylan laughed a lot, hugged a lot, and played a lot together. It was super sweet to see their new bond. I think it will only get stronger as they grow. I am also certain that one day Kinsley and Alayna will enjoy each others' company. We are so glad they made the trip to see us. It made us feel extra special! The time was fast and fun! We love them so much and are thankful that they are family.
Nothing like a scorpion sucker from Texas. Too our surprise the scorpion's head was eaten by Weston and Finley decided he needed to try part of it as well.
Our neighbors' commented that it must be a "Texas thing" to pee in the grass. Is it really? Come on, boys love it....or at least ours don't seem to think it is a big deal.
Balloons and Lightening Bugs are great entertainment
It was getting close to 10 at night and these two fellas didn't seem to notice. They would just laugh and play. I guess they could have been simpled out. They were having to get all their playing in because it was their last night.
