BACK TO SCHOOL
After a fun-filled summer, the BIG day approached. There was much excitement and some sadness too! We loved meeting Macie and Weston's new teachers before they started their first day. A day or so before school started Macie said that she wasn't excited for school. I looked in the rearview mirror and said why not. Her response as big tears ran down her chees, "What if I miss you." My thought was ok....stay home forever; however, I had to encourage her and tell her that even though I would miss her like crazy she would love it. 1st Grade is a lot bigger deal than Kindergarten as she is finding out. Some days she loves it and some days she says, "Yes, it is almost the weekend." I know she enjoys learning, art class, and spending time with friends but she is happy to be home.
Weston started preschool two days a week for 3 hours at Rockwood Early Childhood. I couldn't be happier with his fun, energetic teacher. Almost each day I pick him up he say,"I love my school." He is singing fun songs all the time and talking about making green choices. He seems to really love his time there and that is a relief for this momma.
Kinsley is at home with me and believe me, I AM KEEPING her for as long as possible. She loves to go to the school bus to get Macie and she also loves picking Weston up. She usually waves and says, "Hi, Macie," or "Hi, Weston!" Those hellos come with hugs. I have a feeling that when her day comes, she will be ever so ready to follow in her big sis and big brother's footsteps. Kinsley gets a big kick out of school buses so we sing "The Wheels on the Bus" a lot...every time time we see a big yellow bus. Kinsley does love reading her books, coloring, and sitting along side Macie and Weston when they are doing "school like things."
ME...well, I will say that first week back I had the BACK TO SCHOOL BLUES! I cried dropping both kids off but pulled it together after a short bit. It's always hard giving your child to someone knowing they will spend a good portion of the day with someone else. My prayer is the teachers love them, build them up, protect them, and realize just how special they are. What a different house we have with just one in school full time. I felt like each day was as slow as molasses. I couldn't wait for the bus to get home. Now that we are several weeks into our routine, I am much better and the days fly. I love seeing my little ones happy. I love spending special time with Kinsley and special time with Weston. I love listening to Macie read and spending special time with her..soak up that time. I love picking up the kids from school or the bus pulling into the neighborhood. I LOVE being at home to be the momma of three great kids!
Getting in the car after a great day!!!
LONG day but she got her favorite meal.
