Happy Halloween

I can't get enough of the beauty of fall and the leaves changing colors.  I only wish the picture truly showed the amazing colors.
Kinsley played in the leaves the other day while Weston was at school.  We have had some great fall weather so we take advantage of being outside.

Kinsley is learning from the best.

Getting ready for Halloween...

We love carving pumpkins.  Weston isn't afraid to get in there and pull out all the pumpkin "guts" as they call them; however, Macie is too girly for that.

Ghost pancakes...scary
It sure was a great feeling when the kids woke up knowing that Macie didn't have to go to school.  We were able to relax and enjoy the early before before the SURPRISE.
Spider Web game

SURPRISE!!!! Pappy and Nonnie showed up for some Trick or Treating.
The kids didn't know what to do as they opened the door.  I think they were thrown off because it was only 9 AM and before they answered I reminded them we have to not open the door for strangers (Weston opened the door recently for a friend but Zack and I had no idea).  Anyway, Macie and Weston both just stood there in wonder or shock.  Then the excitment kicked in.  We LOVED having my parents in for the weekend and enjoyed every second of our time together.

Pin the Tail on the Cat

WE are ready to go Trick or Treating!  Nonnie and Pappy loved going with the kids.  Mom said it reminded her of the movies.  It was a lot of fun.  People had their fire pits out front while handing out candy, the leaves were crunching under our feet and we walked along beautiful tree filled streets.  Kids ran from house to house with buckets full of candy forgetting the cold (except Weston...he only made it too a few houses.)

"BRRRRR!  I am cold!"
YES, it was only 41 degrees out so instead of fall weather we had a touch of winter.  The kids experienced something new this Halloween...clothes underneath costumes, coats, and gloves.

The neighborhood kids/friends!
Two of the girls were friends of one neighbor but they made up for the other two kids that didn't get to come due to being sick.  We met over at Tiffany's house for a quick picture.

Our neighborhood is made up pretty much of two sets of people: young families with kids and older adults who have lived there for 20 plus years.  All our sweet older neighbors had goody bags full of candies and prices for the kids.  I really appreciated their sweetness and excitement as they answered their doors.  We are very thankful for the neighborhood we live in!

WE have a Wal-Mart sack completely full of candy!

After trick or treating, we ate candy, drank hot chocolate, and set by the fire.

Golfing on the chair
Kinsley was hanging out with Pappy by the fireplace.  She thinks she is pretty big since she can climb on there too!
