Trip to Grammy's

Macie, Weston, and I went to visit Grammy and Papaw without Daddy last week!  We had an awesome time!  The kids had a blast!  They loved playing outside, going to the Science Place, and to the museum/park!  They also were able to spend lots of time with Jackson and Jillian.  I always brag on what great kids/cousins Jackson and Jillian are.  They are such great examples and they play and play and play with the kids! It just makes my heart happy!  We always love spending time with Grammy and Papaw!

 The one sport Weston hasn't really played yet at our house is tennis.  He got in lots of practice with Grammy.  He tries to throw the ball up and hit it by himself.  I assume Weston will play sports as he grows older because of his loves of sports now.

 Macie wanted in on the TENNIS actions.  I was very impressed that she did such a good job hitting the ball too!  I would love for her to learn to play because it is a life long sport.  Maybe I can  learn as well and we can play together.

 Tuesday morning we went to the Science Place.  Macie has been talking about the Science Place since the last we went about a year ago.  She loved all there is to do there!  Weston did too!

 The BALL section was Weston's favorite part!  Imagine that.  He stayed in this section the most!

 Magnets

 The Science Place has a pretend play area with a grocery store, bank, hospital, cafe, fire truck, veterinarian clinic and courtroom.  They spent a lot of time playing in each of these sections.  I LOVE THIS PLACE!  We spend 2 hrs there but could have spent all day!  There are so many neat things for the kids to do!

 We also went to the Brookshire's Museum.  I believe Janet said Mr. Brookshire (owner of the grocery store) loves/loved to hunt.  He put all his prized animals in this exhibit.  I think others have donated to it as well.  Very impressive.

 Outside the musuem is a fun park.  Even though it poured rain the night before, we played and played. The train behind can be climbed on as well!

 Around they go, HOW they do it I don't know!  I get dizzy just watching.  Weston was fishing the whole time in the puddle below.

 This old fire truck was probably Macie's favorite.  We fought a lot of fires while we were at the park!

Inside the cave, they have a small area to stand on which shakes you like an earthquake.  Macie and Weston got a kick out of it.

Mother's Day

Being a MOM is more than I expected it would ever be...90% of the time  I am living my dream with Macie and Weston but the other 10 I am pulling my hair out...fighting, food throwing, and the teaching right from wrong.  Thinking back to my childhood, I played with my babies constantly.  I always knew I wanted to be a mom.  I knew without a doubt that being home with my kids is were I wanted and needed to be.  Looking back at my 4 1/2 years of MOM experience, I would say I have learned a lot, prayed even more, and never understand this LOVE until I held my sweet babies in my arms.  Definitely being a mom is a challenge.  Consistency and disciple are hand and hand and that is the toughest part of this job.  I think back to the famous words, "This hurts me just as much as it hurts you."  False...it hurts me more, I think!  I just want to do my very best at helping both Macie and Weston grow into loving, compassionate, respectful adults and so much more.  All I know is I  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my job and most can't say that about theirs.  I am thankful that God has blessed me with a husband who provides so that I can stay home. I am thankful that he wants me home too!  I am BLESSED to wake up to smiling faces, spend the day with them, and read their night books and say their prayers.  Most of all I love seeing LIFE through their eyes. OH and I can't wait to hold our next little baby in my arms!!!

Macie saw the big, white flower tent in front of Kroger set up last week and she said, "Who gets flowers?"  I told her that Mother's Day was coming up and explained what it was.  She said she was getting me flowers.  Then she saw on the Disney channel something about making a sweet treat for your mom.  She decided she was making a cake.  

 I put my flowers by the sink.  Macie keeps saying, "Don't you just love your beautiful flowers."

 Usually we read bedtime stories separately but the last few nights, Weston has crawled up in Macie's bed for his books.  I LOVE IT!

THE DELICIOUS CAKE!

 Macie thought I was the only one who was supposed to eat it but I told her that we could all share.  She also thought since it was a "yellow" mix it was banana and she didn't want to eat that.

 I had the perfect Mother's Day!  We went to church, enjoyed a delicious lunch and cake, and I also got to spend some time with my own mom.  Saying THANK YOU isn't enough to say to my mom for all she did/does for us.

 If a sporting event is on TV, it always catches Weston's eye; however, he isn't into cartoons yet.  He kept pointing to the ball over and over and saying Pappy.

 Macie and Weston made a tent in the dining room.  Macie was determined that both of them were going to sleep there during nap time.  It is hard to explain to a 4 yr old that her brother wouldn't sleep in there.  OH but he wanted me to BELIEVE he could too!

I was sing the peanut butter jelly song and thought I would Google it for the kids.  So there is a fast version of the song, I guess.  The kids loved it and danced for about 10 minutes to it as I repeated it over and over.
