Macie went in for a much needed haircut before school starts next week. She was very excited to get a hair cut and to sit in a big seat. She was rewarded with a sucker which she loved. We went to Meet the Teacher yesterday which she was just thrilled about because everyone else has started school. As we were driving our "rental minivan" she sat in the third seat where big kids sit. (On the note of the rental, Macie told me that we need more kids to sit in all the seats...I told her to talk to her daddy.) She told me, "Mom, all your kids are growing up. We are just eating and getting bigger." She walked in her class and said, "I am a student." (Before this she said, "Macie is going to be shy when she meets her teachers.) She forgot out about her shyness and explored the class. She ran into an old classmate who she asked to have a "sleep night" with so they could be princess. She was just nonstop talking. As we left she hugged her teachers and said, "Macie loves her teachers." Yes, she is still using the third person all the time. I think she is just going to love her class this year. Last year when I sent her I cried and cried but also thought it would be helpful since I had my sweet newborn. This year I imagine I will cry and cry because I just love spending time with Macie. If I could record or remember every conversation that would be helpful. Oh I just love her so and am so very thankful for my precious daughter.
Weston went in the same day for his very FIRST haircut. I was worried he would be scared or cry but not even for a second did he move in that chair. HE WAS A PRO! I think he loved getting his first cut.
My BIG ONE YEAR OLD!
Those eyes and that sweet smile just melt my heart.
Does it look like Weston is saying "CHEESE?" That is one of the words or what it sounds like. So far he has said things that sound similar to spaghetti, Macie, cheese, ball, dada, hello (when he is holding the phone up to his ear) and FINALLY MAMA! What sweet words and well worth the wait. He usually says the momma sound when he is needing to be held or wants something. This big box came in the mail with some fun presents for cousins for future gifts. Macie has used it as a boat, space ship, house, and whatever her imagination pleases. We decorated one day and she spent a good hour or so working on her box. Why play with toys when you can play with a big box? Weston liked it too but Macie did like him participating.
This little climber climbs up the slide, slides down, and CLIMBS on ANYTHING he can. The picture below proves it. One day Macie said, "Mom, he is sitting (like it was the greatest thing) so I look up and there he is sitting on the kid table. He works like everything to get on the furniture, stand on the kid chairs which he did, rocked himself backwards and fell the other day. I know for a fact Macie wasn't this adventurous...difference between a boy and a girl.
Weston is really on the go. His crawl can't get any faster. He has taken steps each day. Macie was cheering for him today because he took about three steps. The most I have counted is five. He kind of steps to the side while walking. I can only imagine the thrill of him walking...he will be so pleased.
So Macie was talking to me after reading books before bedtime last night and we were talking about Jesus. We had just read her Bible. She is talking and talking (probably stalling) and randomly she said, "Jesus doesn't have lotion." What and where did that come from?
Mr. Weston loves his Macie. I think he will be very sad when she is at school. I guess two of the hours he will be napping but he follows her around and wants to be ride beside her. I was telling Zack last night I just love what I do. I love it...I love being a mom! I love spending my days with Macie and Weston.
We went to the sand park as we call it this morning. No one was there for a quite a while which was fun. Weston crawls all over the toys and follows Macie around. We also end up at the sand for the last part of time there. It is such a hit. I am sure the rental company is going to be impressed when they get the van back.
